Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal’s (SVKM) Dwarkadas J. Sanghvi College of Engineering (DJSCE) was established in the year 1994. In a span of 24 years, DJSCE has come a long way and has made its impact felt not only in the country, but also abroad. The college runs 8 undergraduate programmes, 3 post graduate programmes and 3 PhD courses, affiliated to the University of Mumbai. All the programs are accredited by the National Board of Accreditation. Students of the college have been performing exceedingly well in national and globally competent multinational companies and also in the universities in India and abroad as they pursue their higher education. The favorable location of the institute in the heart of Mumbai along with state-of-the-art facilities and a distinguished faculty has been a nurturing ground for students of high academic capabilities. Computer Engineering is the systematic study of theoretical foundations of information, its computation, implementation and applications. It is the contemplation of hardware and software among themselves with the advent of making intelligent decisions on its own. To cater with the growing demand of technically sound professional, D. J. Sanghvi College of Engineering started the new discipline of Computer Engineering in the year 2001 with the intake of 30. Efficient teaching learning process, excellent infrastructure, good placement and higher study records every year motivated the institute to increase intake of the department. Currently the intake of undergraduate course is 120. The department also started postgraduate course in the year 2012 with intake of 18 and Ph.D. in the year 2015 with intake of 10. Our undergraduate program is accredited by National Board of Accreditation for a period of three years with effect from the Academic Year 2017-18. The department of Computer Engineering envisions “To impart high quality education promote research culture and inculcate ethical values to develop / produce technically competent engineers capable of meeting global challenges”. Department has systematic teaching methodology with well-equipped infrastructure and well qualified faculty members. We nurture collaborative environment for enabling aspiring technocrats to meet industry and social expectation. From 1970 till date the Information Technology (IT) has gone through tremendous change especially in last few decades. With an intention of producing skilled IT professionals, D. J. Sanghvi College of Engineering introduced the new discipline of Information technology in 1999 with the intake of 60. This program is accredited by National Board of Accreditation for a period of three years with effect from the Academic Year 2017-18. Department of IT envisions “To emerge out as a prominent department offering a programme blended with research culture in its pursuit for academic excellence in order to develop professionally competent and socially responsible engineers capable of meeting industry demands and social obligations in a vibrant global environment”. The Department has always been on a high growth path and has experienced and dedicated faculty members with a strong commitment to engineering education. To keep pace with the current technological trends and to sharpen their skills, faculty development workshops are carried out regularly. The teaching learning process at department prepares students to meet the technology needs of various sectors, namely, business, government, healthcare, education, manufacturing, etc.; which can be vividly seen through the quality placements and number of students successfully pursuing higher studies abroad.
